Hervé Ferrage is the Deputy Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the U.S., based in New York City. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, he received his Ph.D. in Francophone Literature from the University of Paris X. After several years in academia, he turned to cultural diplomacy and served consecutively as Academic Cooperation Attaché in the United States (1999-2003), Director of the French Book Agency in London (2003-2007), and Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in Hungary and Director of the Institut Français in Budapest (2013-2017). He is the author of "Philippe Jaccottet, le pari de l’inactuel" (Presses Universitaires de France, 2000) as well as several articles published in literary journals.
