Strong Female Voices: Gloria Steinem and Vanessa Springora

On April 28, 2021 the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Emory University presented the first event in their series, Ideas and Ideals: Strong Female Voices, a monthly online gathering exploring how we are redefining power, consent, and submission in contemporary society

Taking place over Zoom, the event featured author and publisher Vanessa Springora and activist and writer Gloria Steinem for a discussion on Springora’s groundbreaking memoir, Consent (trans. by Natasha Lehrer, HarperCollins). The conversation was moderated by New Yorker staff writer Alexandra Schwartz and introduced by Director of the Cultural Services’ Books & Ideas Department, Louise Quantin.
