Marc Boutavant’s Albertine Sketch

In March 2019, world-renowned French author and illustrator Marc Boutavant—creator of MoukEdmond, and All Aboard, among many others—visited Albertine to celebrate the release of Dumpster Dog (Enchanted Lion Books), an English translation of the beloved Chien Pourri, written by Colas Gutman and illustrated by Marc Boutavant.

As part of Tilt Kids Festival 2019, a whimsical Chien Pourri-inspired Dumpster Ball was held, complete with a live drawing, activities, reading, and book-signing by Marc Boutavant himself.

Following his visit, Marc Boutavant created this illustration, as part of a series of commissioned works by French illustrators who have visited the Albertine bookstore at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York.
