Rediscover The Haitian Masterpiece Hadriana In All My Dreams by René Depestre

Join four online conversations moderated by Barnard professor and translator Kaiama L. Glover and Duke professor Laurent Dubois on René Depestre’s masterpiece, Hadriana In All My Dreams (Akashic Books, translated by Kaiama L. Glover).

Glover and Dubois’s online group conversation is an experiment in collective public reading and discussion and will be centered on René Depestre’s masterpiece. This new venture is part of a larger visual arts project for which contemporary Haitian artists Nathalie Jolivert, Tessa Mars, and Mafalda Mondésir are producing original works inspired by the novel.

This conversation will take place monthly and will culminate in an event with Edwidge Danticat at Albertine Books on February 19, 2020 and an exhibition at the Louise McCagg Gallery at Barnard College, Columbia University opening on February 21, 2020.

You’ll find these and other details on this website.

All are welcome to participate! If you have any questions, please email hadrianabookclub@gmail.com.
