Ma Vie à Paris: A Book Signing with Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli

On Saturday, February 3 at 3pm, join founders and directors of Astier de Villatte, Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli,  as they present and sign the book Ma Vie À Paris.

Still in the form of a thick, gilt-edged novel, this fourth edition of Ma Vie à Paris (My Life in Paris), the only travel guide printed on letterpress, has been considerably enriched. There are no fewer than two hundred new addresses, new venues and meticulous updates on prices, opening times, atmosphere and decor. The two creators, Ivan and Benoît, have devoted special pages to cabarets, wonderful places not just for tourists: institutions such as the Comédie Française, theatres, second-hand bookstalls, and restaurants open on Sunday and Monday evenings. As always, they have focused on craftsmanship and exceptional secret addresses. This latest edition features a thick central section of photos, like a book within a book, a new cover design and 416 pages.

Free and open to all.

Founded in 1996, Astier de Villatte has many facets:
– A ceramics workshop in Paris, the only one of its kind, which revives and modernizes the tradition of 18th-century Parisian factories and brings the art of stamping up to date.
– A letterpress printing plant in the Paris suburbs, the last in France (and one of the last in the world) to print books in lead.
– A publishing house, with three first publications, the atypical guide Ma Vie à Paris, the art book Drawings with the multi-talented artist Lou Doillon and now the new edition of Balthus’ Mitsou.
– A perfume creation workshop where, in collaboration with exceptional noses, eaux de Cologne, skincare products, incense, gums and a whole collection of scented candles are invented on the theme of an olfactory world tour.
