On Saturday, October 17th, at 3 pm join Laurent Morlet as he signs copies of his first novel, La Gouvernante de Marilyn (Editions Charleston, 2026), released in France this spring.

Marilyn Monroe’s life has inspired countless stories. La Gouvernante de Marilyn approaches hers through an often-overlooked figure: Eunice Murray, the housekeeper who shared her daily life during her final months.

Inspired by true events, this novel brings together two women who could hardly be more different: a reserved, deeply religious housekeeper and one of Hollywood’s most celebrated stars. Their unlikely relationship opens a conversation about fame, loneliness, trust, and the private life behind a public image.

Laurent Morlet is a French-American producer. Based in Los Angeles since 2004, he headed the French Embassy’s film office there. More recently, he co-produced Al Pacino’s stage production at Paris’s Pleyel Hall. For Marilyn’s Governess, his first novel, he conducted extensive research, including several visits to the famous house on Helena Drive where the actress died.
