French Story Hour

Albertine French Story Hour returns for a morning of reading and fun with young novelist and children’s book publisher Clément Bénech. Clément will read from Le Voyage en poisson by Tom Seidmann-Freud and Louis Ier, roi des moutons, by Olivier Tallec.

After the reading, kids are invited to a workshop: Create your ideal island & the best portrait of his majesty Louis Ier, King of sheep. The best portrait will be highly rewarded!

Le Voyage en poisson by Tom Seidmann-Freud, translated from the German by Clément Bénech (Albin Michel).


Clément Bénech was born in 1991 in Paris. He published two novels in French, L’Eté Slovène (Flammarion) and Lève-toi et charme (Flammarion), he writes about photography and painting for the daily newspaper Libération and also translates children books, such as Le Voyage en poisson by Tom Seidmann-Freud. He is now interning at Enchanted Lion Books, a Brooklyn-based children’s books publisher. He likes his cat, psychoanalysis and NBA basketball.
