Anne Morgan’s War

Leaving behind the comfort of her life as the daughter of JP Morgan, Anne Morgan established Blérancourt as her base of operations to spearhead the humanitarian effort in northern France during World War I.
Convincing 350 American women volunteers to join her, she led a large-scale humanitarian effort to rebuild the Picardy region north of Paris from total ruin.
Anne Morgan’s War depicts the little-known story of how one woman became an exemplary force in the recovery of Northern France’s wartime devastation, and highlights the legacy of a woman in the vanguard of feminism and humanitarian action.

This evening is co-organized by The American Friends of Blérancourt and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
